Dear Friends of Malawi
Calvary greetings! It seems like only yesterday we were sending out Christmas greetings and here we are in spring – ready to turn the clocks forwards tonight!
So much has happened since Christmas, here as well as Malawi. We started the year sending parcels of clothes and medical aid which, thanks to God, arrived safely. We’ve also been able to send finance to enable Damson to purchase emergency food aid, as Damson recently in an email reminded us that this is the hungry season when food is not available. It is also the wet season and they have had some continually heavy rain; not very good for the crops which will be due for harvest at the end of April / beginning of May. Not only is this the famine season, it is also the time when many people get sick due to the lack of food. In the same email Damson thanks God for the generosity of people who helped to finance a second hand car which has been used many times to transport people to hospital. Mac, who has been sponsored in his training as a mechanic has been able to secure a job. Praise God! The ladies are busy making the orphans’ clothes, thanks to the Christmas Card and present appeal. Glory is still waiting to find a place for her nursing training.
Many of you will know that at the Bible Fellowship of Malawi recent AGM it was agreed to de-register the charity with the Charity Commission. The necessary work for this has been completed, and we have just received an acknowledgement of the de-registration from the Charity Commission. We, Sue and Peter, are continuing, God willing, to support Damson as we have over the past few years. The original bank account will be closed next month. We have opened a new bank account with Lloyds TSB, called he Bible Fellowship Ministries. Account number 00463217, sort code 30-99-93. Can we remind the regular donors who pay by standing order to pleas change the bank account details if you are still willing to support the Lord’s work in Malawi and Mozambique.
We are very excited at the present time liaising with two potential appointments for Damson to meet John from Worthing and Steph from the Midlands at the beginning and end of April. We pray that the Lord will bless these visits and encourage others to fulfil John 21:15 “…feed my lambs…” Please continue to pray with us for God’s work in Malawi and Mozambique, that many more will come to know the Lord as their Saviour.
Love in His service
Since writing our spring news letter Pastor Damson has informed us that two sets of parants have died leaving 11 orphans which now brings the total number of orphans in the Fellowship to 126. We ask you to help us support these children through prayer and if possible financial help.
