Christmas 09 Newsletter
Dear Friends
Recently we received an e-mail which we would like to share with you:
“Two missionary worker recently returned from their 4th trip to Uganda and I was once again excited and touched as I spent time hearing stories from their time away and seeing new pictures of the children. All the stories made me smile, cry and think, but there was one small phrase that hit me; a message from one of the children, a simple message, with a profound effect, "Will you tell Auntie Katharine, I am praying for her." I can assure you that when I heard that I was truly humbled. Here is a child who has been through so much in her life and yet takes time out to pray not for herself, but for me. In that moment I became acutely aware of my 'clay pot-ness!
Her unselfish and trusting faith in Jesus made me feel like a very small, very ordinary and rather unworthy clay pot! In that moment I realised once again what this is all about. We are not here to simply build a charity, or to increase the sponsorship for our children or even to find stories to share, we are only here as clay pots to hold His treasure, to share His message, and to help others discover their treasure and shine!
Remember, our message is not about ourselves; we're proclaiming Jesus Christ, the Master...we carry this precious message around in the unadorned clay pots of our ordinary lives."(2 Cor 4:5+7 The Message)
Do you ever feel like a clay pot? Do you ever wonder why He has chosen you to do a task? Do you ever stop to thank Him that He uses you to carry His precious message?”
How profound this is; as we look back over the year to see how God has worked here, and with Pastor Damson. We started off the year not knowing what was to happen with the Charity in the U.K. We need not have worried as He had His potter’s hand working. Hoards of clothes have gone to Malawi; lots of jams, chutneys etc. have been sold to raise money for the Fellowship. Networking with other organisations has taken place. Financial gifts have been made, together with regular donations. Damson has met with people from the U.K. for training and photos. Many friends have supported and helped us. In Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe Churches have been planted bringing the number up to thirty. How wonderful our God is!
Please continue to pray for this ministry.
Love,
Peter and Sue Rowe
Dear Friends of Malawi
As
the new year is about to begin, we want to reflect back on 2008 and
praise the Lord for His provision, faithfulness and kindness. We know
that if you sit for a minute and ponder over the last year, you will
remember the struggles and challenges but you also know of the
undeniable grace He has shown you as well. How can we deny His blessing?
That unwavering grace has been there all along, never leaving, and
while He does test us in order to bring about improvements in our
faithfulness and character, He never leaves or forsakes us. He's our
Father....our Dad. We are loved. Think about how much you love. Now
multiply that love a trillion-gazillion fold - He loves you even more
than that. He's the real meaning of "Dad" and "Perfect Love".
We
pray that over the new year you are blessed beyond measure - but
primarily spiritually. May we all grow up "a little taller" in His Word.
Let's commit to staying faithful to the Lord by meditating on His very
words, the Bible. Nothing is more important - not even our schedules. Hiding His word in our hearts
is the key to living. We know that, don't we? We know that in our head,
right? Is it in our heart, though? Let's act on it for 2009.
May the Lord bless and keep each and every one of you this new year as you walk in Him. And please - pray for Malawi and Mozambique if
you think of it. It's not the easiest thing to remember; in fact, it's
rather hard. It's gruelling at times, to be honest. There's a lot of
outside politics (which we try to stay away from) as well as the enemy
himself who would love nothing more than to see the work destroyed. He
hates what we are doing and he hates our message.
He is waiting and watching for our end. But we choose to remain
faithful to this calling the Lord has given us to support the Bible
Fellowship. We truly believe The Bible Fellowship is of the Lord. It is
His and we hold it loosely with an open palm - He can do with it as HE
pleases; it's not about Peter, Sue or any of us. It's about what the
Lord wants for His work. Pray for us as the day-to-day operations get
wearying at times, and sometimes those anxious feelings can sneak in and
threaten to get us off track, or off His perspective. Pray that the
Lord will continue to grow us in character and in His word; that's our
only hope, as we want to obey Him. Please pray that the Lord will keep
us going financially, too, during this economic downturn. Everyone seems
to be feeling it, us included.
We
thank you in advance for your prayers, your friendship and the blessing
you have been to us over the years. January marks another new year. And
you are the reason we exist. So thank you. All we want to really say in
this note other than what we already have expressed, is, "Thank you"
for everything. And God bless your families. We will continue to pray
for you as well.
Love in Christ

June 2009 Report
Dear Friends
Sincere thanks to you for supporting the work in Malawi and Mozambique through your prayers and donations.
We have put this report together with news from Damson and John Ray.
Orphan’s Future Care
Damson’s daughter, Glory, is at present caring for the seven recently orphaned children. She is willing to give up her ambition to train as a nurse and take care of these children on a permanent basis. This will mean supporting her on a monthly ‘wage’ of about £120. We are trying to seek ways of raising the support for her. There are no other options for these children. The total number of orphans in the Fellowship is 126. She will endeavour to do work with these children also.
Maize
Unfortunately, the harvest this year was poor. Only 50 bags were yielded. In the previous two years around 200 bags had been harvested. This will have a devastating affect on their lives in the coming months. Damson has put the problem down to lack of fertilizer and the wrong manure being used. Please help us with our ‘Alternative Christmas Present’ appeal to buy fertilizer.
Christmas Appeal
Again this year we are planning on running an ‘Alternative Christmas Present’ as in previous years. We hope to have Christmas Cards to sell as well. If you are aware of any churches or organisations who might take up our Alternative Christmas Card appeal please let us know. In 2009, so much tragedy has happened in Malawi: the poor harvest, the car accident, and the plight of orphans, we, Peter and Sue, really need to raise the profile of the Fellowship, so please join us in prayer.
Psalm 82:3-4 Defend the poor and the fatherles
John’s report
It was a privilege for me recently to travel to Malawi on behalf of The Bible Fellowship, and to meet Damson Tambwali, and I had three very informative days with him. Damson is supporting twelve churches in Malawi, and three in Mozambique, which means meeting regularly with the Pastors and leaders of those churches to support and encourage.
He actually is the conduit in Malawi that takes the support that comes from the UK to its final destination.
I was made aware of some of the needs that the people have, and as I write I am conscious of the fact that the recent harvest has not been a good one!
It was significant, I felt, for me to visit the home of seven children who have recently become orphaned when their father died. It was very moving to sit in the home and take some photographs, as Damson talked to the eldest child who was 18. Fasani is now trying to support the rest of her siblings in the best way that she can, which to be honest is not very well, and she clearly is not coping. This is a heartache for Damson, as he wonders how he can help this very needy family, one of whom is handicapped, and needs a wheelchair because of polio.
This is just an example of the sort of demands that are put on church leadership in Malawi. Damson and leaders like him really want to help those members of their churches that are in particular need, but sometimes this is difficult for them, as they are living on the slenderest of resources themselves.
Just sending money is not always necessarily the right way. Peter and Sue are very aware that they need much wisdom as they seek to reach out in love to those in need. That reaching out can mean encouragement or advice, financial help for those in need, like the orphans, finance for training in business skills or agriculture.

Easter 2010 Newsletter
Dear Friends
A Message from Pastor Damson:
“Our Dears we wishing you a very blessing Easter. YES TIME WE REMEMBER OUR SALVATION. Please we got a phone this morning from Mozambique that there was a floods our fifteen Christian has no home no food please pray for them Pass our worm greetings for Easter to all. Yes pastors teach childrn and few of them know English. God bless you all, Yours IN HIS mercy Dason and Agnes.”
Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
We heard a story about a man who was imprisoned during Napoleon’s reign. While in his dungeon he wrote on the wall “Nobody cares.” A few weeks later a crack appeared in the dungeon floor. A little green shoot sprung forth, reaching towards a tiny ray of sunlight that came in through the small prison window. The prisoner each day gave a portion of his daily water ration to the little shoot and it began to grow. One morning the man awoke to a beautiful flower. A tear, rolling down his face, he crossed out “Nobody cares” and replaced it with “God cares.” His devotion to the flower was told to Napoleon who set him free.
God plants little shoots of hope in us each day. He wants us to be released to look around and see His beautiful creation. Let us praise Him for all those who committed their lives to the Lord in Malawi at Christmas.
Let us pray for those in Mozambique for His shoots of hope.
Thank you for all your support,
Peter & Sue.

To explain this email, we had asked Damson to give us the names of the orphans attending Peniel School (the one he has started, photo in the August letter) , so that we can pray for them. As previously stated, Damson is holding his Pastor’s conference 1st to 3rd October. These men, their wives and elders, will be travelling, in some cases walking for three days, to attend. So Damson has asked us to pray for financial help to provide food for the conference, as they will all be sleeping on the floor of the church for three days. We are very thankful to New Life Church who have just given us a cheque towards the expenses, for which we praise God for His perfect timing. A quote from one of our supporters: ‘Hallelujah! What a Saviour!’
Also please note that the Malawi flag has changed (thanks to our grandson’s teacher; another story!)
Thank you for supporting this ministry in prayer and finance. Isaiah 58:10.
