The Bible Fellowship of Malawi (BFM) was set up as a registered charity in 2007. Its work started in 1994 when Pastor Damson Tambwali, living in Limbe, contacted Cyril and Selma. They had been producing and distributing Bible studies in the UK and one had been sent to Malawi to a missionary. Pastor Damson was visiting the missionary in hospital. He liked the name of the study and contacted Cyril and Selma requesting permission to call his church by the same name. Correspondence continued between the two countries. Small amounts of money were sent to help relieve poverty in Malawi and help the growth of the church.

In 2006 at the age of 90 Cyril felt it was time to hand the work in the UK over to his  nephew, Peter and his wife, Sue. Peter and Sue, with their two boys, visited Damson in Malawi to see the work. The church had grown into five churches in Malawi and one in Mozambique

In 2007/2008 ten churches were added to the Fellowship, 3000 people, 115 orphans and 73 elderly ladies.
