Dear Friends of Malawi
As the new year is about to begin, we want to reflect back on 2008 and praise the Lord for His provision, faithfulness and kindness. We know that if you sit for a minute and ponder over the last year, you will remember the struggles and challenges but you also know of the undeniable grace He has shown you as well. How can we deny His blessing? That unwavering grace has been there all along, never leaving, and while He does test us in order to bring about improvements in our faithfulness and character, He never leaves or forsakes us. He's our Father....our Dad. We are loved. Think about how much you love. Now multiply that love a trillion-gazillion fold - He loves you even more than that. He's the real meaning of "Dad" and "Perfect Love".
We pray that over the new year you are blessed beyond measure - but primarily spiritually. May we all grow up "a little taller" in His Word. Let's commit to staying faithful to the Lord by meditating on His very words, the Bible. Nothing is more important - not even our schedules. Hiding His word in our hearts is the key to living. We know that, don't we? We know that in our head, right? Is it in our heart, though? Let's act on it for 2009.
May the Lord bless and keep each and every one of you this new year as you walk in Him. And please - pray for Malawi and Mozambique if you think of it. It's not the easiest thing to remember; in fact, it's rather hard. It's gruelling at times, to be honest. There's a lot of outside politics (which we try to stay away from) as well as the enemy himself who would love nothing more than to see the work destroyed. He hates what we are doing and he hates our message. He is waiting and watching for our end. But we choose to remain faithful to this calling the Lord has given us to support the Bible Fellowship. We truly believe The Bible Fellowship is of the Lord. It is His and we hold it loosely with an open palm - He can do with it as HE pleases; it's not about Peter, Sue or any of us. It's about what the Lord wants for His work. Pray for us as the day-to-day operations get wearying at times, and sometimes those anxious feelings can sneak in and threaten to get us off track, or off His perspective. Pray that the Lord will continue to grow us in character and in His word; that's our only hope, as we want to obey Him. Please pray that the Lord will keep us going financially, too, during this economic downturn. Everyone seems to be feeling it, us included.
We thank you in advance for your prayers, your friendship and the blessing you have been to us over the years. January marks another new year. And you are the reason we exist. So thank you. All we want to really say in this note other than what we already have expressed, is, "Thank you" for everything. And God bless your families. We will continue to pray for you as well.
Love in Christ
